Medical home campaign is popular!

(4/05) --A New Education Campaign: "The Right Call Every Time. Your Medical Home" was launched in July 2004. During the first 6 months, State & local staff and health care providers have been working hard to introduce this Campaign to community organizations, professional colleagues and families.

Over 1,000,000 materials have been ordered through the NC Healthy Start Foundation since the Campaign was launched in late July-early August. Targeted education by Community Care of NC staff and Health Check Coordinators is encouraging families to call their medical home first. Within the Community Care of NC Program, emergency room utilization is decreasing, and these educational efforts are likely to have been a contributing factor.

By encouraging families to use a medical home for all of their child's health care needs, you are helping to improve the quality of care for children enrolled in Health Check and Health Choice.
