Two new staff join the state NC Health Choice team

(11/05) -- Welcome to Cinnamon Narron and Danielle Matula!

Cinnamon Narron joined the staff of the Division of Medical Assistance in October as the NC Health Choice Coordinator. Cinnamon is responsible for coordination between DMA, Public Health and State Employees Health Plan; researching, writing and interpreting Health Choice policy under Title XXI; preparing amendments to the NCHC State Plan and preparing mandated legislative reports. Contact Cinnamon (919-855-4020) if you have policy questions, general program suggestions, or questions from the media related to NC Health Choice. Prior to her employment in this position, Cinnamon worked with the Johnston County Health Department in their Breast and Cervical Cancer Program, with DMA Eligibility as a Policy Consultant, and she has worked with Work First with the State Division of Social Services.

Danielle Matula joined the Division of Public Health this summer as the NC Health Choice Special Needs Program Manager. In this position, Danielle will work closely with the Specialized Services Unit on program planning/implementation and on developing a system of care for children with special health care needs. She will facilitate interagency collaboration and provide oversight for behavioral health services delivered through the NC Health Choice Program. Contact Danielle (919-707-5674) if you have policy questions or program suggestions related to Health Choice services for children with special health care needs. Prior to joining the state NC Health Choice team, Danielle served as Resource Investment Director at Triangle United Way where she worked on health and family issues. She has also worked with the American Cancer Society and the NC Comprehensive Breast and Cervical Cancer Control Coalition.

We welcome both staff to their new NC Health Choice positions!
